The Pleasanton Downtown Association was formed in 1984 by community leaders and downtown business owners to help businesses in the downtown area compete with the growing competition from malls and shopping centers. The boundaries of the downtown area are Peters Avenue on the west, First Street on the east, Bernal Avenue on the south, and the Arroyo del Valle on the north. All businesses in the downtown area are automatically BID members of the Pleasanton Downtown Association. BID members may vote on issues put to the general membership. They may also become Board members, committee chairpersons, and officers of the PDA. Downtown Pleasanton is the centerpiece of our community and a draw for both residents and visitors. The continued revitalization of our downtown benefits our entire community. Our Non Downtown Membership program allows local businesses located outside the downtown district to support downtown Pleasanton while taking advantage of a variety of opportunities to market your business.
