Our local VFW strives to do good things for deserving people, our veterans, their families, and their communities. From local grassroots ideas to national influence, we work hard to make a difference. It's our strength as an organization; with each membership, we only grow stronger. Please consider joining us or any other affiliated groups within the VOP. The purpose of our Post (named in Honor of the first casualty of war from Pleasanton in WWIl). Our Charter Application dates back to February 19, 1946. The purpose for which this corporation is formed is Fraternal, Patriotic, Historical, and to preserve and strengthen comradeship among its members, perpetuate of the memory and history of our dead, and assist the widows and orphans, and maintain true allegiance to the government of the United States of America and fidelity to its Constitution and Laws. Our Post is at 301 Main Street Pleasanton, CA 94566, with a mailing address of P.O. Box 601 Pleasanton, CA 94566. We hold several events annually, among them Bunny Bingo, T-Dances 1:30 - 3:00 on the third Wednesday each month, April through September; Memorial Day Services, Hometown Breakfast, Veterans Day Parade, and Turkey Bingo. In addition, we distribute Buddy Poppys on Memorial Day Weekend and Veterans Day Weekend as a Fund Raiser to support our missions. Our combined American Legion, VFW Color Guard, and Honor Guard participate in many school activities, memorial services, and parades throughout the year.
